Draw Rules

These rules govern all 50/50 draws, Chase the Ace draws, and ticketed raffle events run by Black Diamond Outreach Society through this website.

1. Eligibility

Ticket purchasers must be 19 years of age or older and physically located in Nova Scotia at the time of purchase. Both confirmations are required on the order form. Tickets purchased in violation of this rule are void and the purchase price will be refunded where the ticket has not entered a completed draw.

2. How to buy

Choose a draw and a ticket package, complete the order form, and send payment by Interac e-Transfer as instructed on your order confirmation, quoting your order code in the memo. An order is not entered in a draw until payment has been received and confirmed by the society. Ticket numbers are issued at confirmation and can be viewed any time on the My Tickets page with your order code and email.

3. 50/50 draws

The winner receives 50% of the gross confirmed ticket sales for that draw. The remaining 50% is retained by Black Diamond Outreach Society for its charitable/community purposes. The pot shown on the site reflects confirmed (paid) sales only.

4. Chase the Ace

Each week's confirmed sales are split: 50% to the society, 30% to the progressive jackpot, and 20% to that week's winner. One winning ticket is drawn each week. A card is then drawn at random from the remaining deck on the winner's behalf: if it is the Ace of Spades, the winner also receives the full progressive jackpot and the campaign ends. Otherwise the drawn card is removed from the deck, and the jackpot carries forward and grows each week.

5. How winners are drawn

Winning tickets are selected at random from confirmed (paid) tickets only, using a cryptographically secure random number generator. Each completed draw is recorded with the pool size and method, and results are published on the Winners page.

6. Claiming a prize

Winners are notified using the contact information on their order and must claim their prize within 90 days of the draw date. The society may require government-issued photo ID and proof of age before paying a prize. Prizes are paid by Interac e-Transfer or cheque. Unclaimed prizes are handled in accordance with Nova Scotia lottery licence conditions.

7. Refunds

All sales are final once a draw's sales close and the draw has been held. Orders that were never confirmed (payment not received) may be cancelled at no charge before the draw. If a draw is cancelled by the society before being held, all confirmed purchasers will be refunded in full.

8. General

The society's records of orders, tickets, and draw results are final in the event of a dispute. The society may amend these rules with notice posted on this page; amendments do not affect draws already held.
